Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey's Virtual Travel Series takes us from Israel to Poland to Morocco, accompanied by veteran guides, like Moshe Gold, using Google Street View with music, text, and pictures. The series kicks off Sunday, May 24, 2020 June 7th,2020 -- in honor of Jerusalem Day -- with an exciting virtual tour of the Old City of Jerusalem. Jerusalem Day commemorates the reunification of Jerusalem in the aftermath of the Six-Day War, and in addition to visiting the Mount of Olives, the Temple Mount, and a very special stop at the Western Wall, we will step into the boots of the Israeli Paratroopers as they entered the Old City that day in 1967. Visit Jewish Warsaw, a once-thriving community, rich with culture and religion, but destined for tragedy. Explore 1,000 years of Jewish life and culture in Poland via the gravestones of influential personalities, from great Chassidic rebbes to Yiddish theater actors and secular Hebrew writers. Visit the only remains of the Warsaw Ghetto wall, walk the Ghetto Heroes Trail, including the Umschlagplatz, stop at Mila 18, see the Rapaport memorial, ending with a visit to the Nozyk synagogue which is still active today.
