September is National Preparedness Month

National Preparedness Month is recognized each September to promote disaster planning by families and communities throughout the year. The 2020 theme of “Disasters Don’t Wait - Make Your Plan Today” is especially relevant as Monmouth and Middlesex counties and the nation continue to respond to COVID-19.

During the first week of National Preparedness Month, residents should make a plan with their friends and family members to understand how they will communicate and reconnect if a disaster strikes. Methods should reflect recommendations from the State of New Jersey and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding the pandemic.
