Jewish Federation Applauds Major Priorities in FY22 Omnibus Bill

The House and Senate recently passed the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2022, the fiscal year omnibus spending package, which included funding for several major Jewish Federation priorities. President Biden signed the bill into law on March 15th, 2022.

Jewish Federation’s Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), together with Jewish Federations of North America, advocated throughout 2021 and the first quarter of 2022 for critical investments included in this package, such as the Nonprofit Security Grant Program, the Holocaust Survivor Assistance Program, and the Emergency Food and Shelter Program. The bill also included key legislative asks including supporting the people of Ukraine, funding for Iron Dome, Israel Relations Normalization Act, $5 million to implement the Jabara-Heyer NO HATE Act, and numerous health and human service priorities. Please find a completed detailed analysis here.

JCRC will continue to urge lawmakers to support legislation on issues affecting all Jews in the heart of NJ, nationwide, and in Israel.
