This week, Federation’s President, Murray Katz, and Manager of Community Relations & Israel Engagement, Dan Rozett, met with the recently appointed Highland Park mayor, Elise Foster as part of our efforts to support elected leaders in understanding and addressing the needs of the Jewish community.
The group discussed various initiatives, including ensuring the security of the Jewish community, combating antisemitism and hate, and building relationships among community members from different backgrounds. Rozett and Katz also spoke with the mayor about the importance of state and federal nonprofit security grants, a Holocaust Education Bill initiated by Federation, and support for social services.
We look forward to continued collaboration with Mayor Foster toward our shared goal of strengthening the Jewish community and wish her luck in her new role.
