Feminist, activist, novelist and literary legend Letty Cottin Pogrebin captivated the audience at the Women’s Philanthropy Book and Author event. Ms. Pogrebin recounted her involvement in the women’s rights movement and founding of Ms. Magazine. The event gathered women of different ages and stages; some who remember living through the women’s movement and others who inherited it. Ms. Pogrebin shared personal stories of her Jewish background and how she weaves her Jewish soul into her characters.
Ms. Pogrebin was interviewed by columnist Jennifer Altmann whose questions sparked the interesting discussion. Ms. Pogrebin also spoke about her newest novel, Single Jewish Male Seeking Soul Mate. It’s the story of the son of Holocaust survivors who falls in love with an African American girl. Signed books are available for sale. Contact Iris at irisa@jewishheartnj.org or (732) 858-8068.
