Join us to commemorate Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) as we hear from local Holocaust survivor Georgette Chinitz. She will share her incredible story of survival and escape. Born in the south of France in March 1941, Georgette and her family were hidden for two years before being forced to leave. Her father found a safe place in the mountains, so they traveled to Charente-Maritime via carriage. The Italians were in charge, and it was no longer safe, so they fled through the mountains into Italy, where they hid in stables.
After a Q&A session, we will have a short service to remember those killed in the Holocaust. This program is appropriate for ages 10 and up. The is a free event and registration is required here: https://www.shaariemeth.org/event/yom-hashoah-program-w/7th-grade.html
