Chhange’s 2025 Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance Program will feature renowned historian Debórah Dwork discussing American aid workers who undertook rescue efforts abroad long before the U.S. joined the war. Who were these women and men who sought to save lives? What did they accomplish, and how did they manage these feats? In her new book, Saints and Liars, Prof. Dwork tells their stories and, exploring their experiences, illuminates the moral questions they encountered, the devastating decisions they had to make, and the role of unpredictable and irrational factors on the ground, at a particular moment, in shaping individual fates.
Chhange’s annual Yom HaShoah Remembrance Program will include music provided by a cellist, violinist, and Cedar Drive Middle School choir, as well as a candle-lighting ceremony led by local Holocaust Survivors.
