PJC is the custodian of a Czech Holocaust Torah that is rich in the history of the Jews of Eastern Europe before WWII. Lois Roman, of the Memorial Scrolls Trust, will be coming to speak to our students about that history, how the Czech Torah scrolls were hidden during the war and then found, where those scrolls are now, and how they are used to continue teaching about the Holocaust today.

As a prelude to this conversation, we will also be watching the short animated Tattooed Torah. In the film, the Torah is described as the most “precious possession of the Jewish people.” Based on this story join us for a conversation about family heirlooms, precious possessions, and a broad understanding of the Holocaust and its effects on us today.

This program is FREE and open to all to attend this wonderful opportunity for multi-generational and family education as we learn from and with one another. This program in appropriate for ages 8+ with an adult. Registration is required to attend.
