The Hebrew Academy of Marlboro, NJ, will be hosting a special ceremony to dedicate a life-saving emergency vehicle on behalf of the community to United Hatzalah of Israel. The donation is being made by the Reich family. The ceremony is free and open to the community.
The vehicle, an ambucycle (motorcycle-ambulance), is the organization’s flagship vehicle that is used by emergency medical service (EMS) first responders in Israel and enables responders to arrive at the scenes of medical emergencies quickly and safely. During the dedication ceremony, students from the school will hold a special presentation which will be followed by a short talk about the organization’s activities by Gavy Friedson, the organization’s Director of International Emergency Management and Global Ambassador. Gavy was recently one of the EMTs who accompanied a special rescue mission to Bucharest, Romania to rescue six critically ill Jewish refugees who had fled the conflict in Ukraine and brought them to Israel to receive emergency medical care at an Israeli hospital. The rescue flight was one of many that was arranged by United Hatzalah as part of the organization’s Operation Orange Wings, which brought nearly 3,000 Ukrainian refugees to Israel.
