Special opportunities make travel exceptional experiences. Imaging walking into St. Mark’s Basilica in Venice one evening after the crowds are gone and the lights have been turned off. You sit with a few people in the seats of the cathedral while a narrator begins to tell the story of Venice and the church. As she speaks, the lights slowly begin to illuminate the stunning gold dome over the alter and the splendor of the cathedral. You then have an exclusive opportunity to explore the crypts below the most magnificent cathedral in Venice.
Traveling with the right company makes all the difference between seeing the sites and being immersed in the local area. Ending a morning of touring at your tour guides home. A home that has been in her family for 6 generations. She tells the story of her home and how her aunt hid Jews during World War II. She lets you wander and explore the home and finally we meet at her rooftop terrace for a wine and cheese party. The view from her roof is spectacular!
* Doing Private tours vs group tours….or at least being sure to book a small group with a skip-the-line feature.
* Save hours waiting line and trying to following a guide with 30 travelers in in a group.
• Walking tours vs bus tours in certain destinations are a must
• Leave some time to just walk around a city and see how the locals live, shop and work. In other words….get lost and you will be amazed at what you can see and experience.
• Don’t jam pack your city visit with every moment booked with tours
