While Time Magazine called 2014 "The Transgender Tipping Point," Reform Judaism is still catching up. We currently have only two trans rabbis and no trans cantors ordained in our movement. However, over the next five years, we expect to ordain 17 new trans rabbis and cantors. Student Rabbi Ezra Leventhal will lead a discussion around the questions: How does trans identity shape, and potentially even complement, our role as spiritual leaders? How will this influx of trans leadership affect Reform Judaism? And...are we ready?
