Program to commemorate October 7th. Ira Kohler is a Long Island native who, at the age of 21, moved to Israel and served as a Lone Soldier in the IDF Paratroopers. On October 7, Ira found himself fighting on the front lines on Israel’s toughest day fighting in Kibbutz Be'eri, and he went on to spend over 100 days inside the Gaza Strip. Upon completing his service, Ira wrote a memoir titled Once a Paratrooper — the first book written by a Lone Soldier from the war. Ira will tell his story and speak about his book. We welcome everyone to join us for this powerful evening.
