Come see an Off-Broadway show with stories and songs about American Jewish celebrities performed at Neve Shalom on Sunday, November 10 at 4 pm. The musical “Stars of David” is based on the book of the same name by Abigail Pogrebin and was conceived by Aaron Harnick. It is based on interviews Abigail Pogrebin had with many Jewish-American celebrities including: Fran Drescher, Al Franken, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Leonard Nimoy, Joan Rivers, Gloria Steinem and many more. The wonderful songs - some very funny, some poignant and touching - are by top rated Broadway and Off-Broadway composers and lyricists including Marvin Hamlisch, Sheldon Harnick, Tom Kitt, Michael Feinstein, Maltby and Shire and several others. The performance stars five New Jersey cantors: Kenneth Feibush, Lucy Fishbein, Sheldon Levin, Rebecca Moses and David Perper. The instrumental musicians include Broadway pit orchestra performers and the Paper Mill Playhouse concert master violinist. There are some “adult” words, so this is not a show for children.
General Admission seats are $25 and Patrons seats, which include your names in the program and reserved seats in the center, are $50 each. Tickets are available in the synagogue office at Neve Shalom, 250 Grove Ave, Metuchen NJ 08840
