A new model for Hebrew School education, under development for the past several months at Congregation Sons of Israel, will be unveiled to the public at this meeting.
The new approach to Hebrew School education is designed for children 7-8 years old or entering third grade in September, 2019, and reflects the Congregation's commitment to education excellence as reflected in its highly-respected Nursery School and acclaimed monthly Torah Tots program for children 5-7 years old.
According to Executive Vice President Bonnie Leff, the Congregation's Education Committee has been researching best practices and unique approaches with the assistance of educators and consultants for the past several months. "Our students will learn about our rich Judaic culture; develop prayer and Hebrew reading and writing skills, and be introduced to the wonders of modern Israel," Leff said. "And of key importance, the curriculum will be presented in a creative, loving, caring and fun environment which fosters respect and pride in their Jewish traditions." All primary teachers on the faculty will be licensed professionals.
