In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Music Festival at Max Yasgur’s farm in Bethel, New York, we will explore the Jewish history of Woodstock!
From the festival's location in the Catskill Mountains, to many of the concert's organizers and promoters, to many of the concert's performers, and to Max Yasgur himself, the Woodstock concert never would have happened without the Jewish community. Put simply, Woodstock was the biggest party the Jewish Borscht Belt ever hosted! Through video clips and concert footage, Lincoln will discuss the little-known Jewish history of the 1969 Woodstock concert.
