On Sunday evening, August 18 at 7:00 PM, two regions of the Cantors Assembly will combine into one talent-studded ensemble to present their annual summer concert, entitled Jewish Joy on a Summer Evening, to take place at the Monroe Township Senior Center, 12 Halsey Reed Road, Monroe Township, NJ. Congregation Beit Shalom of Monroe Township is graciously sponsoring the concert, which is held in a different city each year.

The Cantors Assembly is the international association of cantors who serve Conservative synagogues. The festival ensemble will be comprised of men and women cantors from synagogues throughout New Jersey and the Philadelphia area. Hazzan Sheldon Levin is the music director and conductor, and David Schlossberg will be the piano accompanist. Featured in the concert will be internationally-renowned soloists and instrumentalists.

The public is invited to experience Jewish music as it springs to life in this exciting and entertaining concert of the Cantors Assembly. With an amazing repertoire ranging from classical synagogue music to Israeli, Yiddish, Sephardic, choral, cantorial, humorous and even gospel-style, the cantors radiate joy while captivating and involving the entire audience. Each member of this outstanding ensemble is a synagogue cantor, ranking among the best voices in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Proceeds of the concert will benefit the Cantors Assembly and its scholarship fund.

The contribution for this concert is $15 per person. Patron status may be obtained for a contribution of $72, which admits two adults and lists their names in the concert program. The deadline for patron listings is August 12. Checks should be made payable to CANTORS ASSEMBLY NJ REGION and mailed to Congregation Beit Shalom, P.O. Box 6852, Monroe Township, NJ 08831.
