Seeing Human: Sacred Renewal in Spring Holiday Celebrations
Spring season offers renewal and redemption in each of the major world religions
April 26, 2021 | 8:00 PM
Join community members and clergy from various faiths to explore the commonality of faithful experience that this season brings, and the many different lenses through which our diverse cultures view it.
In one form or another, each religious tradition speaks about the one Source of Creation, from which everything flows. Different religions have different names and understandings of this power. Each, though, holds at its core, the idea that this Source of Creation creates everything. We will consider ways in which that faith is universal, even while different traditions express it in unique ways.
Speakers will include:
Rabbi Marc Kline, Rabbi of Monmouth Reform Temple and Jewish Federation Chair of Interfaith Initiatives
Rabbi Rebecca Gutterman, Rabbi of Temple Emanuel in Edison
Arjit Singh Mahal, Representing Sikh Community, Past Grand Chaplain, Grand Lodge of Freemasons of New Jersey
Father Guy W. Selvester, Diocese of Metuchen Director of Ecumenical & Interfaith Affairs; Pastor, St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Washington, NJ
Umar Sheikh. Board of Directors for both the New Jersey Muslim Lawyers Association and Muslims for Peace, Inc.
Uma Swaminathan, Sanathana Dharma Practitioner
