Greetings from Brooklyn is the theme of the November 10th event honoring Marvin Krakower for his decades of service to the Freehold Jewish Center. A dinner/dance will feature Marvin Krakower as the honoree for his roles as Education Director and Executive Director for two decades. Growing up in Brooklyn and attending yeshiva every day from grades 1-9, he then attended Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson high schools. As a teen, he worked in the borscht belt for about ten years. Later he earned a Master's Degree and went on to work for thirty years in the Carteret School System.
He also gained a Master's Degree at Seton Hall and became a school administrator in Carteret. Marvin served on the Jackson Township Committee Government an was Mayor for a year. It was following his service in the army in Viet Nam that he served as religious school principal of Beth Or in Old Bridge, Temple Emanuel in Edison, Ahavat Shalom in Lakewood, and as youth director of the East Brunswick Jewish Center.
