Please note this event has been CANCELLED:   On Friday evening, March 20, 2020 at the 7:30 service, Neve Shalom presents Dr. Uriel Abulof as our guest speaker. He will discuss “Living on the Edge: The Existential Anxiety of Israel and Jews.” We welcome members and non-members to think about issues faced by the people and country of Israel. Refreshments will be served and there will be time for questions and answers following the presentation.
Dr. Abulof is a senior lecturer of politics at Tel-Aviv University. He is a research fellow at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School and at the Truman Institute. This year, he is a visiting professor at Cornell’s Department of Government. Abulof studies the politics of fear, happiness and hope, social movements, existentialism, nationalism and ethnic conflicts.
There is no admission fee and the program is open to the public. Neve Shalom is pleased to bring high quality speakers on topics of Jewish interest to Shabbat services thanks to the generosity of Gilbert and Claudie Hayat. For more information, contact Hazzan Levin: Hazzan@NeveShalom.net.
