Marc Chagall was one of the most innovative and versatile artists of the 20th Century. He created a unique style that incorporated his Jewish birth and tradition, his training in the art schools of Russia, and his time spent in the pre-war Paris of Picasso and Matisse. Dislocated by WW I he created his masterpiece in revolutionary Russia, only to be forced to flee west and recreate himself in a new environment. These two sessions will examine Chagall’s extraordinary life and body of work.
