In cooperation with the Milken Archives of Jewish Music and the UCLA Herb Albert School of Music, Neve Shalom will be one of the first communities piloting this professionally designed, new curriculum. Class will include recordings, videos and discussion on the following topics:
♦ October 31: What Makes Music Jewish?; ♦ November 7: The Art of Prayer; ♦ November 14: Bloch and Bernstein; Jewish Identity in Music; ♦ November 21: Organ or Guitar: How Instruments shaped Jewish Music; ♦December 5: Women’s Contributions to Jewish Music; ♦ December 12: New Jewish Music Movements.
