Rabbi Polak is a child survivor of the Westerbork and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps. He lost his father and thirty family members in the Holocaust. His writings have appeared in many books and scholarly journals. He is the Director Emeritus of the Florence and Chafetz Hillel House at Boston University and Chief Justice of the Rabbinical Court of Massachusetts.
