Annual Yom HaShoah Commemoration

9:30 to 11:30 at the BREC at Brookdale Community College

Rabbi Josef Polak, Holocaust survivor, academic, and author of the memoir After the Holocaust the Bells Still Ring.  His memoir is a fascinating portrait of a mother and child who miraculously survive two concentration camps, and then after the war, struggle to re-enter the world of the living.

This moving commemorative program also includes a candle-lighting ceremony featuring local Holocaust survivors who are escorted by sailors from Naval Weapons Station Earle, as well as a musical performance by a local high school choir.
