The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County presents Talley’s Folly performed by The Dragonfly Multicultural Center of Metuchen, NJ on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. Admission is $18 members, $20 non-members, $17 each (groups of 6 or more). Sponsorship opportunities are available, which includes two tickets and acknowledgment in the program.

Talley's Folly is a 1979 play by American playwright Lanford Wilson, the second in his cycle, The Talley Trilogy, between his plays Talley and Son and Fifth of July. Set in an old boathouse near rural Lebanon, Missouri in 1944, it is a romantic comedy following the characters Matt Friedman, a Jewish accountant, and Sally Talley a non-Jewish nurse’s aide, as they once and for all settle their feelings for each other. Wilson received the 1980 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for the work. The play is unique for Wilson in that it takes place in one act, with no intermission, set in 97 minutes of real time.

The Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center was started by Metuchen residents and mother-daughter team Catherine LaMoreaux (Executive Director) and Anna Paone (Artistic Associate). LaMoreaux had worked a variety of arts administration jobs in Manhattan, including the Forum Theatre Company in the 1990s. Paone graduated with a film degree from the University of Michigan. She previously worked at George Street Playhouse, and currently works at Backstage. The team provides live entertainment in Metuchen and aims to create a new kind of community theatre, focused on ensemble-based theatre education and lesser-known, family-friendly works.
