Be inspired at a program honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., at Monmouth Reform Temple (MRT), Tinton Falls, and Pilgrim Baptist Church, Red Bank. On Friday night, MRT will host a Shabbat service featuring the temple choir alongside the church choir. Dr. Everett McCorvey, University of Kentucky Chair of Opera, will speak on the bema. Dr. McCorvey grew up with the King children and will relate his personal experiences. He is Artistic Director and Founder of the American Spiritual Ensemble. On Saturday following Havdalah, MRT will show the film "I Shall Not Be Silent", words and work of Rabbi Joachim Prinz, A panel discussion will follow. Then on Monday, Rabbi Marc Kline and Cantor Gabrielle Clissold of MRT will participate in a noon service at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 172 Shrewsbury Avenue, Red Bank. The MRT Choir and Pilgrim Baptist Choir will both perform.
