FILM: 50 CHILDREN: THE RESCUE MISSION
“When much of the world closed its eyes to the terrors of Nazi Germany, one American couple risked everything to save Jewish children from an unimaginable fate.” HBO
This film tells the previously unknown story of Gilbert & Eleanor Kraus, a wealthy Philadelphia couple, who traveled to Nazi-controlled Vienna in 1939 with an audacious plan to rescue Jewish children. Trailed by the Gestapo, they managed to engineer the rescue of the “single largest-known group of children allowed into the US at that time.” Jeff Dinsmore, Documentaries
Dr Erwin Tepper was one of the fortunate 50 Austrian children depicted in this film.
He will be on hand to recount his experiences and answer questions.
This program is free and open to the public.
Dessert and coffee will be served. Donations are welcome.
