In accordance with the Torah’s commandment to pursue justice and peace, the Consultation on Conscience attracts some of the most important voices doing the work of social justice today.

Our bi-annual Consultation on Conscience is a day-long investigation of Judaism and the most crucial issues facing the world today.

Past visitors to Anshe Emeth’s Consultation on Conscience have included Coretta Scott King, Rabbi Uri Regev, Rabbi David Saperstein, Ruth Messenger, Nicholas Kristoff, Governor Jon Corzine and U.S. Senators Cory Booker and Bob Menendez.

In addition to his acting and singing career, Harry Belafonte worked as a champion for many social and political causes. Always outspoken, Mr. Belafonte found inspiration for his activism in such figures as singer Paul Robeson, writer and activist W.E.B Du Bois and civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.
