November 21, the visually exquisite, award winning documentary "ANGEL AZUL" will be shown at 7:30 PM.
An extraordinary merging of art and environmentalism, this film, directed by Marcelina Cravat, focuses on the quest to save the coral reefs by artist Jason DeCaires Taylor. Artificial coral reefs with life size statues formed from live models were created by Taylor to divert tourists from the endangered natural reefs. This film's literal journey through the coral reefs in search of a solution to their environmental jeopardy is nothing less than stunning.
On November 22, the Josh Fox documentary "GASWORK" will be shown at 7:00 PM. The sequel to "GASLAND 1 and 2," this powerful film presents the observations and concerns of the workers in the natural gas and oil industry witnessing firsthand the dangers of fracking.
Discussions will follow screenings of both films.
