When the Big Band Era came to an end during the late 1940s, popular music by singers took over America’s musical preferences. We listened to songs on the radio by Theresa Brewer singing “Music, Music, Music”, Fats Domino singing “Blue Berry Hill”. We were rocking to Bill Haley’s “Rock Around the Clock” and Patti Page singing “The Tennessee Waltz” plus many more great 50s songs.
Do you remember the DA Haircut, pony tails, Milton Berle’s TV show every Tuesday evening, Ed Sullivan’s Toast of the Town, The Make Believe Ballroom, the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Giants? Presidents Truman and Eisenhower, the Henry J. Packard, and Edsel cars? All this plus lots more. This is a fun hour to remember the 1950s...don’t miss it!
